HGNC Approved Gene Symbol: RPS21
Cytogenetic location: 20q13.33 Genomic coordinates (GRCh38): 20:62,387,103-62,388,520 (from NCBI)
Bhat and Morrison (1993) isolated a full-length cDNA encoding the small ribosomal subunit protein S21 (RPS21). The deduced primary sequence of the 83-amino acid RPS21 protein differed from the rat Rps21 sequence by only 4 amino acids.
By somatic cell hybrid and radiation hybrid mapping analyses, Kenmochi et al. (1998) mapped the RPS21 gene to 20q13.3 (GenBank AB007157).
