Alternative titles; symbols

TUMOR NECROSIS FACTOR-ALPHA-INDUCED PROTEIN, ENDOTHELIAL

HGNC Approved Gene Symbol: TNFAIP1

Cytogenetic location: 17q11.2     Genomic coordinates (GRCh38): 17:28,335,761-28,347,009 (from NCBI)

TEXT

Cloning and Expression

Wolf et al. (1992) characterized a novel cDNA by differential screening of a tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNFA; 191160)-stimulated umbilical vein endothelial cell library. The protein product is involved in the primary response of the endothelium to TNF. The 3.5-kb transcript was found to be expressed in a developmentally regulated, tissue-specific manner.

Mapping

Wolf et al. (1992) mapped the TNFAIP1 gene to chromosome 17q22-q23 by in situ hybridization.
