Assessment of Tumor Angiogenesis

Moscow, Russia A process of producing new capillaries from preexisting vessels induced by inflammation, immune reactions, and neoplasm is neoangiogenesis is analyzed. This process is required for the tumor growth and progression. The information about the major regulators of angiogenesis is generalized. The role of assessing neoangiogenesis for prediction of patient outcome, metastasis, and resistance to chemotherapy is discussed.
