Apoptosis and Cytokines

Trufakin Institute of Clinical and Experimental Lymphology, Siberian Division, Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Novosibirsk, Russia Cytokines are shown to participate in regulating the programmed cell death (apoptosis) of cell along with their influence on proliferation and differentiation. Deprivation of cytokines in systems in vivo and in vitro leads to the programmed cell death. The influence of cytokines on apoptosis should be taken into account in their therapeutic use.
