Gene: [01p3/SLC2A1] solute carrier family 2 (facilitated glucose transporter), member 1; glucose transporter 1 (erythrocyte/brain); [GLUT1 GLUT ]

FAG

Five other human GLUT genes, including a pseudogene, are identified and mapped: GEM:03q26/SLC2A2, GEM:12p133/SLC2A3, GEM:17p13/SLC2A4, GEM:01p31/SLC2A5, and GEM:05q3/SLC2A3P. In addition, there are at least four proteins responsible for the conjugate sodium-glucose transport: GEM:22q131/SLC5A1, GEM:16p112/SLC5A2, GEM:21q22/SLC5A3, GEM:00.0/SLC5A4."

MOP

The primary translation product of GLUT1 consists of 492 amino acid residues (MM 38 kD) while the mature glycosylated protein has MM 55 kD."
