Campbell et al. (Campbell-1997) identified a gene named PIN1L
closely related to the PIN1 gene (GEM:19p13/PIN1). The novel gene encodes a
100-amino acid variant protein consisting of 63 amino acids homologous
(90% identical) to PIN1. They commented that the protein encoded by PIN1L may have some functional role or, alternatively, PIN1L may be a transcribed pseudogene. They mapped PIN1L to 1q31." |
