 Genes CD28 and linked to it CTLA4 (GEM:02q33/CTLA4) are components of superfamily of immunoglobulin-like genes (FAM:IMM/00.0) and form a subgroup of membrane-bound single domains V (Lafage-Pochitaloff-1990). CD28 and CTLA4 are thought to have appeared as a result of duplication of a single precursor and hence might have common functions."
