Gene: [02q33/PTHR2] parathyroid hormone receptor 2; [PTHR2R ]
COM |
By FISH, the PTHR2 gene was mapped to 2q33 (Usdin-1996). |
MOP |
The PTHR2 gene product is a 7-transmembrane-domain G protein-coupled receptor that selectively recognizes parathyroid hormone (GEM:11p15/PTH) and is member of a family of G protein-coupled receptors referred to as the secretin receptor family (Usdin-1995). PTHR2 is most similar (51% overall amino acid identity) to the PTH/PTHLH receptor 1 (GEM:03p21/PTHR1). The gene is most abundantly expressed in brain, pancreas, testis, and placenta. The physiologic role of PTHR2 and its possible role in disease remained to be determined." |
