Human protein SATB1 is a matrix protein binding specifically to the nuclear matrix/scaffold-associating DNAs (MARs/SARs), control elements maintaining independent realms of gene activity. Dickinson et al. cloned a human cDNA that encodes SATB1. It is expressed predominantly in the thymus (Dickinson-1992). Xu-1997 assigned the SATB1 gene to Chr 3p23 fluorescence in situ hybridization." |
