Bowen-1995 demonstrated that ALCAM is a CD6 ligand (see GEM:11q13/CD6) by showing that an ALCAM fusion protein binds to COS cells transfected with CD6. By FISH, they mapped the ALCAM gene to Chr 3q13.1-q13.2."
