Gene: [06p213/PSORS1] psoriasis susceptibility locus 1;
COM |
[1] Another gene (psoriasis susceptibility locus 1) has been deduced by
using an indirect method evaluating genetic linkage between the disease
phenotype and polymorphic micro satellite markers mapped on Chr 17q
(see GEM:17q2/PSORS2).
[2] Some of the reported associations of HLA antigenes with particular forms of psoriasis are especially strong. For example, any individual having the HLA antigenes B13 or B17 has a five fold risk of developing guttate and erythrodermic forms of the disease; whereas HLA B8, Bw35, Cw7, and possibly DR3 were increased in palmaplantar pustular psoriasis. These facts can be considered as a support of the genetic heterogeneity hypothesis for psoriasis. The newest data supporting this hypothesis have recently been published by Tomfohrde-1994. The authors found that two families (among those in which psoriasis was unlinked to Chr 17q) provided data according to which at least some forms of the disease may be associated with HLA-Cw6." |
