MOP | The MOZ gene encodes a predicted 2,004-amino acid, 225-kD polypeptide with 2 bipartite nuclear localization domains. MOZ is a founding member of a group of highly conserved proteins characterized by a single C2HC3 zinc finger in conjunction with a putative acetyltransferase consensus domain. MOZ also contains two C4HC3 zinc finger domains, protein interaction motifs associated with chromatin-bound proteins. These motifs suggested to Borrow-1996 that MOZ may represent a chromatin-bound acetyltransferase." |
