Gene: [11p15/TALDO1] transaldolase 1;
COM |
Transaldolase is a key enzyme of the pentose phosphate pathway, which is reponsible for generation of reducing equivalents to protect cellular integrity from reative oxygen intermediates. Banki-1997 assigned the transaldolase gene to Chr 11p15.5-p15.4 by fluorescence in situ hybridization. A truncated and mutated segment of TAL-H exon 5 was identified in a pseudogene locus on Chr 1p3 (GEM:01p3/TALDOP1)." |
