Fe,S-containing protein ferredoxin is an intermediate electron transfer protein for all cytochrome P450 types involved in steroidogenesis (20- and 22-hydroxilation, splitting of the side chain of cholesterol, and 11-hydroxilation). It does not participate in electron transfer to microsomal cytochromes P450 (17- and 21-hydroxilases, aromatase, etc.)."

Another pseudogene is mapped to chr 21 (GEM:21^/FDXP2)."
