Several polypeptides associated with the fraction of hnRNA (primary transcripts of RNA polymerase II) within the nuclear RNP particles, including (besides A1 protein) A2/B1 (36kD/37kD; GEM:07p15/HNRPA2B1), B2 (38kD), C1/C2 (41kD/43kD; GEM:00.0/HNRPC), as well as proteins G (GEM:06p12/HNRPG), L (GEM:00.0/HNRPL), and the product of A1-like gene (GEM:01p32/HNRPA1L). According to Buvoli-1988, the total number of components of this multigene family may reach 30. They are supposed to code for about 20 different proteins, their MM varying from 34kD to 120kD, which are constituents of nuclear RNP particles."
