Gene: [CYP2C/10q241] cytochrome P450, subfamily IIC in Chr 10q24.1; (CYP2C8 CYP2C9 CYP2C10 CYP2C18 CYP2C19)

COM

Note that the numbering of CYP2C isoforms begins not with number 1 but with number 8, since, according to the CYP gene nomenclature (see Nebert-1989 and others), numbers 1-7 are reserved for orthologous CYP2c homologues in genomes of different animal species."

MAP

Gray-1995 constructed a 2.4-Mb physical map of the CYP2C gene cluster spanning approximately 500 kb on 10q24.1 and comprises 4 genes cen--RBP4(GEM:10q241/RBPI2)--CYP2C18--CYP2C19--CYP2C9--CYP2C8--qter. It seems likely that CYP2C10 (previously mapped by Inoue-1994 to this region) is a cloning artifact derived from CYP2C9."
