Am J Vet Res 55:102,1994. Study shows that plasma and cryoprecipitate increase vWFiAg when given to dogs with vWD and that cryoprecipitate administration decreased BMBT.

Fogh JM, Fogh IT: Inherited coagulation disorders. Vet Clin North Am Small Anim Pract 18:231, 1988. Extensive listing of all coagulopathies identified in small animal species at the time the article appeared.

Moser J, Meyers KM, Meinkoth JH, et al: Temporal variation and factors affecting measurement of canine von Willebrand factor. Am J Vet Res 57:1288, 1996a. Study looks at vWFAg as it varied over time in the same individual animal and how it was influenced by hemolysis, hyperlipidemia, blood collection site, anticoagulant, duration of vascular occlusion, centrifugation speed, storage time, and freeze- thawing.

Moser J, Meyers KM, Russon RH: Inheritance of von Willebrand factor deficiency in Doberman Pinschers. J Am Vet Med Assoc 209:1103, 1996b. Prospective study of Doberman pinschers and mixed-breed dogs suggesting that a single gene defect is responsible for the inheritance ofvWD in this breed.

Panciera DL, Johnson GS: Plasma von Willebrand factor antigen concentration and buccal mucosal bleeding time in dogs with experimental hypothyroidism. J Vet Intern Med 10:60, 1996. Experimental study shows that induction of hypothyroidism does not lead to a defect in primary hemostasis or reductions in vWF:Ag.

Study looks at the concentration of v WF:Ag in cryoprecipitate and the effect of repeated freeze-thaw cycles, freezer temperature, and storage at room temperature on this concentration.
