Gene: [00.0/ARHGAP1] Rho GTPase activating protein 1 (p50); CDC42 GTPase activating protein 1; [p50rhoGAP ]

FUN

The ARHGAP1/CDC42GAP protein inactivates CDC42 (GEM:01p361/CDC42) by stimulating GTP hydrolysis. The CDC42GAP contains a functional SH3-binding domain (Barfod-1993). The Rho family members Rho (GEM:03q2/RHO), RAC (see GEM:00.0/RAC1), and CDC42 are suggested to be substrates for RHOGAP, with CDC42 the preferred substrate (Lancaster-1994)."

FAG

The following genes coding for Rho GTPase activating proteins have been found: GEM 07p153/CHN2(ARHGAP3); GEM:0Xq28/ARHGAP4; GEM:00.0/ARHGAP5; GEM:0Xp223/ARHGAP6."
