Gene: [01p21/ACTGP4] actin, gamma pseudogene 4;
|
 MAF  |
The ACTG pseudogene 4 overlaps with the coding region of the saliva amylase (GEM:01p21/AMY1A; Emi-1988)." |

 GEN  |
A sequence ACTGP4 (594 bp), which is 87% homologous to the 3'-untranslated region of the gamma actin cDNA, is found in the 5' region of of the AMY1 gene. ACTGP4 is located in position -234/+360 (the location of the cap site being +1) and overlaps the 5'-untranslated region, the entire S exon, and a half of intron 0 or S of AMY1 gene. In addition, the 5' end of ACTGP4 gene itself is flanked (in the opposite direction) by a sequence which is highly homologous to the endogenous retrovirus LTRs (they are cloned and sequenced: Steele-1984, Science, 225, 943-947; Repaske-1985, J Virol, 54, 764-772)." |
