They analyzed the sequence and found that this cDNA, termed IAR (for islet antigen-related), encoded a protein of 1,015 amino acids which was 43% identical to IA-2 (GEM:02q3/PTPRN), an autoantigen associated with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM)." |
