Gene: [08q241/MYCA] mouse pvt-1 oncogene homolog, myc-activator; retrovirus HTLV-I insertion site?; adult T cell leukaemia, retrovirus associated (HTLV-I atl); [PVT1 PVTL ATL ]
HIS |
The locus PVTL was identified as oncogene by analogy with
PVT-1/MIS-1 system in mouse and rat (it is located close to MYC
protooncogene, which undergoes amplification in some tumors). Another
reason for PVTL being considered as an oncogene locus is the data on
the high frequency, in some B and T cell leukemias, of translocations
(2;8) and (8;22), in which the breakpoints in Chr 8 flank the PVT-like region." |
MAP |
The loci MYC and PVYL are separated by a fragment with the length of about 300 kb; and, according to Mengle-Gaw-1987, an approximate physical map of this region is like this: cen.. 5'-MYC-3'... 45 kb .... BPT(2;8) .. 14 kb .. BPT(8;22) ..ter | pvt-like region | ." |
