Moore-1989 found a cluster of about 30 copies of a 18 kb nucleotide sequence in the region of APL-translocation breakpoint in chr 17. This cluster seems to be specific for chr 17. The revealed DNA repeats are scattered over 2 Mb region on both sides of the APL-breakpoint (for more details on these repeats, see GEM:17q1/D17Z2A). Rider-1989 demonstrated that chr 17 contains at least two more localization sites for for this DNA repeat, in 17q2 and 17p (see GEM:17q2/D17Z2B and GEM:17p1/D17Z2C)." |
