Gene: [08p2/PRLTS] PDGF-receptor beta-like tumor suppressor; platelet-derived growth factor receptor-like; [PDGFRBL ]
FUN |
The exact function of PRLTS gene product is unknown. However, as it is considered to be a secretory protein in a view of its signal peptide- like seequence and is homologous to the ligand binding domain of PDGFR-beta (GEM:05q3/PDGFRB), it may function in some growth-control processes; it might be an antagonist of interaction between PDGF and its receptors. Therefore it is supposed to be a suppressor of progression of cancer cells rather than an initiator of carcinogenesis (Fujiwara-1995)." |
