Gene: [04q12/PDGFRA] platelet-derived growth factor receptor, alpha polypeptide;

FAG

[1] Biochemical studies have revealed at least two PDGF receptor classes, which are possibly specific to different isoforms of the platelet cytokine (A type receptor for PDGF-AA and -AB isoforms and B receptor for PDGF-BB isoform). The gene for this receptor beta-peptide is located in chromosome 5 (GEM:05q3/PDGFRB). The PDGFR-like gene is mapped: GEM:08p2/PRLTS.
[2] The PDGF per se is a heterodimer; its A and B peptides are encoded by different but evolutionary related genes, which are mapped in chromosomes 7 and 22 (see GEM:07p22/PDGFA and GEM:22q1/PDGFB)."

EVO

Significant homology was demonstrated between PDGFR, KIT protooncogene (GEM:04q12/KIT) and macrophage growth factor (GEM:01p/CSF1)."
